Not looking for whose chip is faster or cheaper. But most people tend to fall in one camp or another depending on their particular needs/wants. Just curious about opinions here.

VIA RULZ!

Absolutely. Via is hands down the single best chipmaker on the planet. I couldn't agree more.

I am a life long member of the VIA fan club as well. They are truly pioneers in the industry. Who even buys Intel or AMD anymore?!? Sheesh...

Yeah, VIA C4 is going to be 10x faster than future Dual Core AMD/Intel processors

If your ass is less expensive than P4 Extreme Edition, then it may sell well

From what I've heard, his ass is about 50 percent slower on most real world benchmarks and generates twice as much heat, mostly when he talks. :lol:

Oh please. I see the transmeta fanboys are late to the party as usual. Like Robinson CRUSOE, transmeta is as primitive as can be. Transientmeta is for fanboy luzers. Anyone who knows is on the Via bandwagon. The rest of you transientmeta luzers need to get a clue.

Primitive huh. So Giligan and the Skipper too would both choose the Transmeta? :smile:

Actually, I think the professor could have made faster processors out of coconuts. Transientmeta is for l8mers to the extreme.

look at the benchmarks, Transmeta 'PWNS' AMD / Intel / and VIA

i'm gonna have to say AMD atm. because they make products that fit my needs and demands right now. Not marketing BS. I don't want to pay for intel sponsorship anymore. most of intel's money goes to Dell ads and commercials. Like DDR2, and netburst has a wall. That direction will lead to a dead end. While AMD A64 has 64-bit potential and much more room to grow based on that architecture. Dual cores will even boost AMD even more. Dothan's are the only good intel chip atm, but they aren't even released for desktop yet, and is still using slower 100mhz fsb and DDR333. The P4 EE is rediculously priced, and still loses to A64 in many gaming applications. When you pay for Intel, You pay for overhead. It's like buying something from compusa. the stuff is $100 more for the same thing!

AMD = Another Melted Device
VIA = Very Inadequate Appliance

i see you are continuing the joking theme of this thread ^^.

persoanlly, i actaully use amd, intel, and yes even via chips. the via chips i use in some mods in very small form factors and even a htpc system at one time. right now i have more amd then intel, but ive always had one of each, all of those chips have thier strong suits.
