Hi guys
Could you please give me some good configuration for a new system; it's majorly for video editing. I work around 8 hrs per day editing video. My budget is around 1000 dollars. pls see the sample configuration below and let me know your thoughts

Processor Intel Dualcore
Intel 35GB motherboard
Asus graphic card 9
Cabinet IBall
HardDisk 500GB
RAM 4X2GB=8GB
CD Rom HP 22x
Samsung monitor 22in
mouse, keyboard logitec
windows 7

the most important suggestion I expect from you are for :
Processor Intel Dualcore
Intel 35GB motherboard
Asus graphic card
Thanks
Simon

I would go with an i7 socket 1366 motherboard and 920 cpu. Microcenter has had the cpu for $199.99 if you live near one, while frys electronics has had this cpu with motherboard as low as $280 after rebate. Frys is located mostly in the western usa, while microsoft is in the east and south. Can't help you much with the 35GB board.

Video editing, will require a serious machine if you want it to be fun, not a 10% edit and 90% wait on the slowness.

-IN your budget what do you need besides the computer hardware....monitor, os, keyboard, mouse?...be specific on what you require and don't.
