I'm currently running an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 with 16gbs RAM, a 256 gb SSD, a Radeon 580 w/8192 mbs VRAM, and a 650 watt power supply. It's been an excellent machine. It never pauses working in Photoshop and editing video, even with a ton of other software running. But the new AI tools in Photoshop are thrashing it; not only they take at least a minute or more, they sometimes freeze the entire machine until they finish. So I'm looking to upgrade. Photoshop and video editing are the only real considerations. (I do game-MechWarrior 5! But I'm not having any problems there.) It looks like I need to jump to at least 32 gbs of RAM and a much bigger SSD; those are the bottlenecks that show in Task Manager. If I'm going to do that it's more cost effective to upgrade to a new CPU and MBoard, long term. What's the best CPU for this? Is the package below a good fit for my needs, or is something else better? Finally, the GPU is barely ticking over running Photoshop. Is that because it's not the bottleneck, or because it's too old for Photoshop to use?
