Best monitor for the 100/110 euros range

Solution

Ok, so here's some good monitors I found and the reason to why I chose them:
http://www.pixmania.pt/monitor-20-23/benq-gl2250hm-preto-monitor-led-21-5-full-hd/22119744-a.html#description Good price for what it offers, with good contrast and a 5ms response time. 21,5" is definitely not bad and it's the cheapest...

Are you from Portugal? If so, cheers :D, I'm from there too :p.
Now on the subject, do you really want to order from Pixmania? Is it a requirement? Because if you're from Portugal, I think you could get a good monitor for 20 bucks more than your budget, albeit from a different store: http://www.globaldata.pt/monitor-benq-24-gl2460-2ms.html

I'm saying this because I currently have this monitor, and you might appreciate a user reference: Big (24"), good color contrast, and 2ms response time. If not, and you really want to order from Pixmania, I can take a further look ;).

That monitor is good, by I would recommend a monitor with a higher Refresh rate. This monitor is amazing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236176&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-LCD+%2f+LED+Monitors-_-N82E16824236176&gclid=Cj0KEQiAvKunBRCfsum9z6fu_5IBEiQAu4lg4p2eKzxpVOcNk3RrRYc87fpJf9jgBkgpoffNIYgB4JwaAuAj8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Yeah, it's good, but the response time is 5ms, which, FOR ME, is just too much. I'm quite a avid gamer....

Interesting. Does it actually do a huge difference in gaming?

What, the high-end models? I'll tell you that 144Hz, once you get used to it (at first glance it'll seem like 60Hz, with a slight buff) makes you never want to go back again (if you have the graphics horsepower to support it of course). You'll start to think 60Hz monitors seem sluggish xD. Now on resolution: Much sharper image with 1440p, for better looks in games and everywhere (even web browser) above all. Response time makes your mouse movements seem more fluid and responsive and better color contrast makes the colors better..... Dr Obvious over here.

P.S. Forgot to mention that IPS (or even VA for the matter) Panel monitors make the viewing angles better and further improve the coloring.

After all this explanation (that you probably already knew of and I completetly misinterpret your question) I'am only left to say: Yes, it does make a difference.

Hi, thank you for your reply, nice to see someone portuguese in these forums. Well, I don't think I would buy that monitor, its 136€ and I would have to pay shipping+dvi cable since I don't have one. That's why I want a monitor with HDMI, because I have a spare cable. Since you're portuguese, it doesn't need to be on pixmania, you can recommend a monitor on other stores that you trust. And my budget will depend on some sales I'll make on OLX, ps3+ram+old monitor, I think that max it'll be left for the monitor would be 120/130 euros.

You shouldn't be able to notice a difference between 2ms and 5ms, unless you're superman, lol. 60hz and 120+hz makes the difference. However, 3ms difference does not.

But then again, at your price range, you'd be MUCH better off having a 5ms IPS over even a 1ms TN.

I got my monitor for about $130 USD which is the Philips 224E5 (IPS, 5MS, 1080p). And I myself am a competitive CS:GO player, and yet I have no drawbacks from the refresh rate.

Then it might be placebo, but I definitely do notice a difference between my BenQ 2ms and Samsung 5ms..... It's small, but nevertheless existent. By the way, that monitor costs 151€ on the site he wants to order from. It's also only 21,5" but that might not be a problem for him and for you, for the matter.
To the OP, okay then, I'll try to find you the best 120ish $ monitor with HDMI support I can find on pixmania. I'll just browse through a bit deeper and will come back to you soon.

By the way, if it his like mine, you shouldn't really trust it's speakers, as they are quite silent. It supports HDMI.

http://www.pixmania.pt/monitor-20-23/acer-g236hlbbid-23-full-hd-monitor-led/19235158-a.html Good discount. It's also bigger with higher color contrast, but less brightness. Also higher response time.

For around that price, monitors are sort of identical, with some edgind out in some characteristics, but falling short on others. You just have to decide what's more important to you.
