Best surround headset options

Hello. I am planning on purchasing a 7.1 surround headset. I have a on-board Realtek ALC892 Sound card and i was wondering if it is high enough quality to get a Razer Tiamat or if i should get a USB headset that does not require a sound card such as the corsair vengeance 1500. Also do you think the Tiamat 7.1 is worth it. I heard mixed reviews and i am not too sure about it. Thank you.

Personally it isn't really worth getting 7.1 anything(especially headphones). There aren't many games or movies that use it. I wouldn't suggest an USB headset. Also another brand to look at Turtle Beach. I have the 5.1 non-usb and they sound very good.
