Bios & Driver updates on newer MB's ??

I was wondering when a new board comes out , does it normally have more updates than than the board before it ?

Example: With the Msi K7pro , K7pro2 & K7pro2-A .

Would the K7pro2-A have more updates than the K7pro2 ?

Or will I have to update drivers etc. no matter what ?

In this case the boards in question are very close so the new boards bios will be more mature from the start and the drivers will be newer also but you may still need to update them.
