Question Black screen on boot after installing new MOBO and CPU

Hi there,

I have just purchased a Ryzen 7 5800x and B550 tomahawk MOBO. Initially on boot it would just show the black screen after BIOS. I found out it was related to the SSD. I switched a setting in the bios so it would boot off my SSD but then it hung on the windows logo, no spinning icon.

I then restarted the computer a couple times to try get it to boot, including removing the gpu and mobo battery to reset it. Now on boot there's no bios, just a black screen. All the fans are on and also the backlit keyboard lights.

Any one got any ideas as I am quite stumped.

put the gpu back in. 5800x have no igpu

Sorry, I wasn't clear, the GPU was always in. It's on now but I seem to get stuck booting with the windows logo. In the bios is registers my SSD in SATA port 1 but doesn't say its bootable. Why would it hang on the windows logo with no spinning loader?

It also now skips bios and goes straight back to the stuck windows logo
