Block illegal downloading on my restaurant wireless router.

I have a restaurant that offers free Wi-Fi, but has a password. It is a router offered from CenturyLink as part of their service. Although we change our password every two weeks, someone has been getting the password and dl'ing illegal movies and music. We are surrounded by homes, apartments and businesses, so I know it is a regular customer that is getting it and then using it at their place. We have had four notices given to us on the illegal activity and today CenturyLink turned us off. After speaking with them, they agreed to turn it back on as long as we take additional measures to block the illegal dl'ing. They said they don't have any routers that offer the security features we need, so we are on our own to find a solution. I want to continue offering the service because it does draw in customers. This has been going on for months, so I know it is a regular. The settings on the router we have only offers pw protection. Are there any that offer file size restrictions or some other feature that would help us?

Thank you for forwarding the link. Unfortunately, none of the tips will help my situation. I can't get every customer's MAC, we don't allow any file or printer sharing and even though we already have a password, we give it to customers when they come in and purchase food/drink. They then go and use it at their place. They are not hacking into our router, computers, files, etc, they are using the wireless connection to download illegal content onto their own computers. Therefore, I need to find something that can restrict downloads to a certain size or certain types of files or distance from my restaurant. I know some can restrict times in parental controls, but that won't help if they are doing it during my normal business hours.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi fstecher.

What is the make and model of the router? you may be able to reduce the transmission power of the router so it only covers the interior of your restuarant?
