After attempting to create an image of my disk using Ghost, my computer
freezes early in the boot sequence. So early, that I dont have control
of my USB keyboard so that I can use a bootable disk to get it going
again (can't instruct to select HDD or CD). Any suggestions on how I can
solve on my XP Pro rig?

Is it locking up on the ghost boot disk? The last version of ghost I used
booted using a dos alike and did not support a USB keyboard or mouse.

No, I never got the image completed. I'm locking up on my computer.
Actually, it locked up during the reboot that is required by Ghost and
I've not been able to move forward.

Did you remove the Ghost CD, and where was the location of and what kind of
image were you creating? Ghost creates several different images.
You may do better asking Symantec support if you do not get your answer
here.

Sometimes it's a tad hidden in the bios setup and called [USB Legacy
Support].
