Boot up problem

I just installed a new motherboard and processor. All the other hardware is the same. I did not reformat my hard drive becasue I want everything that is on it. However, I have not been able to boot up to windows since I have installed the motherboard and processor. It gets to the windows load screen (with the blue progress bar) and then the computer shuts down. I know I have seen this problem before but I forget how I resolved it. Can you guys help? do I need to rebuild windows in order to have it work?
