My windows 10 install is completely borked. I tried creating a Linux distro usb but got booted right into UEFI.
Tried a W10 usb via media tool, right into UEFI.

Why is this happening? It's an ASUS notebook with Windows 10 Pro installed (originally home).
I once installed a Hackintosh on it which required some changes to the EFI folder.

The USB part is getting detected but boots into UEFI screen.
Tried with and without secure boot and legacy csm, no difference. Different USB port and drive, same result.
Bootable USB as NTFS, FAT32 no diff.

I know this is not a lot to work with but let me know what you need.

Have you checked the bios to see what the boot order is? You can also hit F8 during boot and it should take you to boot options.
Sorry I should've mentioned that I select the partition manually via ESC. It was obvious to me but I understand that I should've mentioned it, sorry.
