Hey everyone im really looking to build a new computer im only 17 so funds are limited but I got a little 😀. So if anyone wants to help me build a gaming computer, Mainly want a game that can run Age of conan decently, would be nice to get 30+ fps. So if anyone can help me out!

CPU - im looking for the cheapest thing i can over clock and play some top of the line games
MB - Anything thats good for over clocking
Video - MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (found one for 160 bucks)
RAM - Anything \that helps with overclocking
Psupply - Cheapest thing I can get away with

Anyways thanks for taking the time to read, if anyone has and advice, thanks in advance!

Here are the parts I have so far.

CPU - Intel Pentium E2160 Allendale 1.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E2160
MB - ASUS P5K SE LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
VC - MSI NX8800GT 512M OC GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI
Ram- mushkin 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) with EPP Profile Dual Channel Kit
HD - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500AAKS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Pwr- Rosewill RP600V2-S-SL 600W SLI Ready-ATX12V V2.01 Power Supply - Retail

A other question, would I need ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler for overclocking that CPU? or would stock heatsink/fan be ok?

Also heard Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM was the bomb.

Also if anyone can recommend a cheap case that that has good air flow lemme know! 😀

Thanks again 😀

That is an awful power supply, return it before it fries, If you want to build a budget pc, the absolute last thing you should skimp on is the psu. A cheap, low wattage unit is far better than some P.O.S. high wattage unit.

+1 to getting a better power supply. Don't mess around with that. Corsair, Thermaltake, Antec, PC Power & Cooling are good PSU makers. You can get a Corsair VX550W or VX450W on the cheap from newegg, tigerdirect or buy.com.

A relatively cheap case with good airflow is the Coolermaster Centurion 5. Costs about $50-$60.

How about Antec True Power Trio TP3-430 430W ATX12V Power Supply with Three 12V Rails 100 - 240 V UL, CUL, FCC, TUV, CE, C-tick, CCC, CB - Retail

Mondoman recommended that one to me.

The Coolermaster Centurion 5 is perfect Stabgotham.

Thank you guys for the tips on the Psupply, ill def shell out some extra bucks for it.

This is whats recommended to run Age of conan.

*OS: Windows XP SP 2 or Windows Vista
*Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz or equivalent
*RAM: 2048MB Dual Channel DDR2
*Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX or equivalent
*Video memory: 512MB
*DVD-ROM: Quad-speed (4x) DVD-ROM drive
*HARD DRIVE SPACE: 30GB

This is what im getting for 693bucks(case,fan,ect is included). If I get my CPU to OC @ 3ghz I should be ready and set to rock n roll right? I Just wanna make sure I get good FPS 😀

Change PSU to a better brand and 550 W minimum.
You need HS and Fan for sure
Antec P182 case is a good one
LIAN LI PC-7B plus II is also good for 90$ (Newegg)

CPU: E2160 will do it. Dual-Core with Core architecture will OC nicely. Plus is 65nm.
MB: Gigabyte P31 or P35 chipsets are DAM pretty cheap now, they will do the job
RAM: DDR2 is GOD DAM cheap right now, G.Skill has their new Pi Series and OCZ has their Reaper series both are really cheap for around $80 2Gbs at 800Mhz
PSU: Corsair 450 is the cheapest brand PSU I could find you. Remember this part is very important and you dont want to get a Rosewill...

Ok i got this bastard all ordered! I went for Antec NeoPower 550 550W ATX12V Power Supply - Retail I hope that can handle the 8800 gt with all the other crap it takes to run a computer. I want to thank everyone so much for your help, I didnt know a single thing on computers till today, so you guys are all badarse!

Thanks everyone you guys are great!

Antec True Power Trio 430W isn't bad at all. I picked it up at Frys for $10 and decided to see if it could handle my Q6600 Oced to 2.66GHz, Oced 8800GTS 320MB, 3 HDs, 9 x 120mm blue led fans, and 4 x 1GB DDR2 800MHz ram. Lo and behold, it can handle everything I throw at it, from stress testing Prime AND ATI tools to playing Supcom with 4 other AIs.

Let us know how it goes with the build. Of course you can also use the overclocking forums here at TH for assistance in that area as well. There is a very good guide on OCing the C2D processors there.
