We just purchased a Dell PowerEdge R360 Server with a BOSS -N1. The performance is not quite what I expected, and I'm having a hard time finding reviews online to compare against.
I am getting 1400MB/s READ and only 222MB/s WRITE. Can anyone confirm whether this is normal?

Have you contacted Dell regarding the server's performance or apparent lack thereof?

Server specs?

Include disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

Also: Is there a specific requirement for RAID1 or RAID of any sort?

What is the use environment?

Yes, I have a case open with Dell, and I'm trying to escalate the ticket. The level 1 rep is trying to tell me a 4x PCIe 3.0 link has 1GB/s theoretical max, so I'm not exactly filled with confidence. This is a brand new Dell PowerEdge R360. The disk drives attached to the BOSS controller are SKHynix PE8010 480GB nvme. These drives should be able to saturate a 4x PCIe 3.0 bus. The BOSS card might be disabling the disk cache on the drives with no ability to enable it, which should be a choice left to the admin. I just can't believe I'm the first to notice how bad the performance is.
