I keep getting BSODs after installing new SSD(Samsung EVO 860) and CPU (i5 4670). I have reinstalled (fresh install) and updated Windows 10, updated all my drivers and firmware of SSD. The crashes have mostly happened while playing CS:GO (3 times) and one time while using Zoom (+ ESO and Chrome opened). My CPU/GPU temperatures seem normal, so I do not think that is the cause. The error that I saw on the BSOD screen was "store data structure corruption".

Here is the .dump file if that helps https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aq8G610IpmtziG3UNHUItMkQiOHs?e=tmAVbi

What I have done so far:

  • Check SSD for bad sectors (none) using Samsung Magician
  • AIDA64 stress test CPU (40 mins, temp no more than 72C)
  • Windows memtest (0 errors)
  • memtest86 overnight on 4 cycles (0 errors), might leave it once again on 8
  • did sfc /scannow ; dism scanhealth, dskchk
  • updated BIOS
  • tried to update drivers (don't know why but they don't seem to get updated - version and date doesn't change even after restart and successfully finishing setup)
  • latest Win10 update
  • removing RAM and placing it back
PC Specs:

CPU - i5 4670
MOBO - ASUS H81M-E
GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 750Ti
RAM - 2x4GB Dual Channel Value Plus Geil
HDD - some 500GB 7200 RPM
SSD - Samsung EVO 860 250 GB
PSU - 550W some chinese company I think (edit: Sohoo 550W PSU)

i can't read dumps but I have a friend who can convert them

Which drivers won't update?

what is exact brand of PSU? one cause of this BSOD can be power supply or over heating. Another is overclocking but that isn't an option of CPU or the board.

I will wait and see what dumps show before guessing anymore.

Here is the dump, this one caused errors :

Which drivers won't update?

I've tried to update the Realtek Sound driver and LAN driver provided by ASUS on the page for my model of MOBO - https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/H81ME/HelpDesk_Download/

I think it's an unknown brand. No overheating on my CPU (max temp was 73 during stress test, duration 40 mins). Also no overclocking done whatsoever, disabled XMP profiles.

I should also mention that driver install software such as Snappy Driver or Driver Booster seem to update drivers without any problems.

Windows 10 will have newer versions of both drivers. Naturally drivers from 2016 will have been replaced by now, Asus are just slack and often only update drivers for about 2 years and then stop. Only driver I used from them when I installed last was the Sound drivers (I have a Asus Z97 Pro).

THe newest realtek lan drivers are here - https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

Sound is slightly harder to find but windows probably has newest now.

I wouldn't recommend 3rd party driver installers as they can install the wrong drivers (its happened to me), normally can find drivers yourself.

How old is the PSU?

I found a collection of sound drivers for Windows 10 64 bit, and it seems well updated (latest driver is from 03/2020). Would it be okay to use that? https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Realtek Semiconductor Corp MEDIA 2020

Around 3-4 years old? Do you think it's the PSU? After my previous one failed, my PC just didn't boot up. This one seems to be working perfectly.(except for BSODs of course)

Hi, I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://blubberyturn.htmlpasta.com/

File information:041320-15421-01.dmp (Apr 13 2020 - 16:20:16)
Bugcheck:STORE_DATA_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION (1C7)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: MemCompression)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 2 Hour(s), 00 Min(s), and 15 Sec(s)

Possible Motherboard page: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/H81ME/
You have the latest BIOS installed, version 3602.

This information can be used by others to help you. I can't help you with this. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

well, the error happened in compressed memory... i think it was writing something out of virtual memory onto a page of ram
The Windows 10 Memory Manager is responsible for providing each process on a 64-bit Windows machine with a 16 TB virtual address range, and a 4 GB range on 32-bit builds. The memory manager creates the illusion of having the entire system’s memory space available for the process by transferring pages between:
• Physical memory (RAM)
• Hard disk (pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys)
• Virtual Store (MemoryCompression process)

(note: I am still working out what all the things mean)

now your version of this is older than your bios, and it might help - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/67496/Intel-Management-Engine-Interface-Intel-MEI-

some of the text in the error mentions tcpip. that is the driver used by windows for internet.
your realtek LAN drivers look fairly new, do you use WIFI as well?

Yes. Have you updated your lan drivers with the link I gave before?

As it might fix problem unless you are still getting errors... in which case give us the newer dumps :)

I haven't updated any of the drivers. Surprisingly enough, I haven't gotten any errors/BSODs since (I've played CS:GO and used my system as usual).

Should I still install these drivers if everything is okay now?

Tried installing the MEI driver, got the "Platform not supported" error.

EDIT : Also tried installing Chipset drivers from manufacturer page for MOBO, and got "Fatal Error" during installation.
