Can I get some help?

My modem and router is located at our second floor and it seems that the signal of the wifi connection doesnt reach the first floor. So I was thinking of a way to extend the reach of my connection through the use of a wifi extender. Is there any other alternative I could do to make the wifi connection reach the 1st floor? I was told I could use another router as an access point but I dont have any idea how to do that. >_< It would really help me if someone could enlighten me on these things.

If you use another router as an access point you would need to place that router on the second floor and run a cable to it. I have Linksys WRT120N. I live in the philippines and was wondering what kind of range extenders are compatible with my router.

I tend to favor the Hawking range extenders just because of their relative low price.

I just checked on some of the shops around here and i found out that those range extenders are not sold here in the philippines. are there any other alternatives that has a good balance of performance and costs?
