Hi,

I have a HP Dv6t-7000 Quad edition laptop running Win 7 with a 2nd monitor in extended mode. The GPU is Nvidia GT 650m in optimus with Intel HD 4000. So for a better part of 10 years, I have been running with a Samsung SyncMaster 2494HM and it ran beautifully at 1920x1080x60Hz. I am actually just using the VGA port.

My monitor is getting old and cranky so I'm thinking of replacing it. I like this:

https://www.costco.com/acer-24"-class-fhd-ips-monitor.product.100674589.html

It seems like a good replacement, same size at 24" and most of everything is the same. The only thing is this is 75 Hz instead of 60 Hz. I'm wondering if I could still use this monitor and run it at 60 Hz in the setup I provided above?

Thanks!

Jeff

Apparently the link doesn't work for me. Got a model for the monitor? With all due respect, the monitor will run at 59Hz or 60Hz while on the external display output port, by default.

It's the Acer 24" Class FHD IPS Monitor K243Y bi

So it will run 59/60 Hz even if it is 75 Hz? That is great!
