I currently have the Gigabyte A320M-DS2 and the Ryzen 3 1200 but I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 2600. To do this do I need to upgrade my motherboard or do any sort of software updates before putting the new processor in ?
CheersJust check your MB BIOS version, because the MB needs at least F20 to support the ryzen 2600. If it does not have, then update the BIOS, then switch to the ryzen 2600.

You will need to check your specific motherboard on the manufacturers website. If it has Update AGESA 1.0.0.2 for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ CPU full support, it will support it. Just update the bios to the latest version. I have heard a320 wouldnt support Zen 2 cpu's but it looks like it does with a bios update.Am I able to install a Ryzen 3600 ?
Cheers for the help mate. You will need to check your specific motherboard on the manufacturers website. If it has Update AGESA 1.0.0.2 for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ CPU full support, it will support it. Here https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-A320M-DS2-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios It has F40e and mentions something about 3rd Gen. Is it possible ?And your MB needs the 40Fx version for the ryzen 3600, because you had the ryzen3, use it to update the BIOS first, if the MB does not have newer BIOS.
Cheers for the help. Would you say it is worth getting the 3600 over the 2600 with the £80 difference ?3000 series processors are supported.

Update to BIOS F31 first, then update to version F40 for 3000 series support.
Sorry for the late reply, I have :What are the complete hardware specs of your system? Depending on what hardware you have, it's possible that money might be better put toward other components instead.
Any particular RAM you would recommend ?Id go for a 2600 and spend more money on ram.
I'm from the UK so that deal isn't really the same
