Can't print

Hello,
I'm trying to print from the desktop to a HP deskjet 6940 and when I do, I get the message, "Print to File" I copied a file earlier from one folder to another from the desktop. Would that cause the problem?

What is the exact message? What printer is showing up as the one selected when you try to print? Sounds like you are using a print icon or a quick print option and you don't have the HP selected as your default printer.
