Hi all,

Just purchased a Packard Bell laptop running XP Home SP2, and im trying to use a 802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card to connect to my current broadband connection which works fine.

I had to assigned an IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway as obtaining an ip address automatically wasnt working. Doing this i managed to get connected wirelessly but still cant access the internet, so far 30,000 packets have been sent and 0 have been recieved.

I've spent several hours looking through the net to no avail.

So far i've tried ping 127.0.0.1 and this works fine. I also tried ipconfig /renew and got the msg: No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has media disconnected.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks all the same but i've fixed it now....It was just a case of paying £90 for a new modem/router and £40 for a new wireless card....probably could of saved myself some money but i wasnt getting much response to my post so now i am sad and £130 down.
