Hello everyone,
I'm currently using Windows XP Pro which I updated to SP2 a while ago.
Even before this update I was facing some major problems to read CDs
from my combo drive DVD/CDRW. Actually I still have the same problems:
A) So if I insert a CD the icon in XP changes but when I double click
it's empty. The interesting part is that I can write CDs with this
drive and Winamp can even recognize the drive and RIPs Audio Cds with
no problem.
B)One day I decided to uninstall the drive and restart the system..No
luck and it didn't work.
C) Already getting desperate I just disabled the CD drive and
restared... Amazingly this worked... but only until the nex reboot...
So I would like to ask you if anyone is having the same problesm and
if there's anyone that could help me. I'm really getting desperate...
I was thinking of changing the CD drive but somehow I think thta the
problem is from the XP side. And also I don't want to throw money away
just because XP is having a crisis..
Thank you very much
