To someonewhoknowsalittle:
I won't dispute with you. So no matter what you come up with, I won't reply anymore. Chinese government is not equal to China. Don't use 4 letter word to China. Another fact which I am quite sure is that even Intel CPU is not designed only by Americans. Don't to too childish.

@ignoranceisbliss: "WHEN DID CHINA EVER ATTACK ANOTHER COUNTRY?"

Are you kidding me? China attacked Vietnam, India, Tibet, Russia and South Korea and the entire UN peacekeeping force in South Korea. China fought wars and/or major battles with all of them. And China threatens to attack Taiwan all the time. Not to mention the brutal Chinese suppression of Chinese Muslim Uighurs in western China.

When you say your name is "ignoranceisbliss", you should know. The Chinese government is a brutal, violent, repressive, corrupt, totalitarian regime that doesn't respect the basic human rights of its own citizens, never mind those of any other country. That's why China allows factory sweat shops of tens of thousands of virtual slaves in China where they have so many employees committing suicide by jumping off of factory roofs that they install nets around their factory buildings (eg. Foxconn) on the 2nd or 3rd floor levels to catch the human bodies falling.

[citation][nom]fatcatbebe[/nom]more competition is a good thing.surprised to see lots of westerners bitching about chinese products. the people who say the chinese are not innovative are ignorant. im not going to go in details. just remember when westerners are still trying to figure out how to use fire, the chinese already have a complex writing system. who cares if america is good at making cpus and what not. your country is broke as hell. one thing america is not smart with is using money the dumbasses that run the country. when the chinese president came to visit the white house awhile back, Obama was pretty much licking Hu's shoes. Never underesimate other countries are capible of. maybe 30 years ago, china was a piece of crap. but times has changed. before you talk crap about china, why don't you pay china back the 2 trillion you owe them.[/citation]

Yea, but we have democracy and freedom of speech. You also need to do some research on their economic policies before suggesting mandates. It would be nice if we had a fair playing field.

[citation][nom]lorllc[/nom] WHEN DID CHINA EVER ATTACK ANOTHER COUNTRY? OR WHEN DID CHINA EVER HAVE A CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER COUNTRY? (Tibet is contested) (But hey remember the United States colonized the Phillipines-basically stole Hawaii) DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHY CHINA is a PERMANENT MEMBER of the UN security council? [/citation]

They don't need to go abroad to perform acts of war, they have their own population to suppress. If they are so great, then why do they continually lock down the Internet and suppress freedom of speech? Also, don't forget their support of the Korean War.

[citation][nom]68vistacruiser[/nom]I would rather buy a chip made in China than a chip made in Arizona by Intel.[/citation]

Let me guess...you would rather buy a chip made in China versus Arizona.

my family has businesses in china, so i am well aware of how things run in china. i do agree china could do more about human rights and laws. but i also believe US should stop printing money 24/7.

Also for all those saying that things produced in China are junk - well almost all of Apple's products are, right? Those tend to be higher quality than almost anything else as far as construction goes

It goes back to our early Mafia days and the desire to counterfeit, just got it in our blood.

On the serious side, China is playing a significant role world economy. When they artificially deflate prices and the Yen, then other countries cannot compete in this unlevel playing field. Granted, the US should tax big corporations and millionaires but the Chinese should also play by the rules.

Not necessarily. If a product is produced with a high production standard, then they will be of high quality. The problem is with the tons of junk trinkets, electronics, food products, etc. that they flood the market with. It is interesting that China imports over 200,000 Buick's a year. Obviously, they prefer American luxury cars to their own.

That will be something to keep an eye on, possible copies of cpu's which does happen at the moment with other items in China.
