[citation][nom]2 wrongs = right[/nom]US subsidies on farming is also wrong... does one wrong action make a second wrong action justifiable? China sells oil below market price - you can call it "state ownership" I call it subsidization when the price is below what would normally be charged. And while you focus on just this and try to justify this action by other countries' (wrong) actions - you ignore the complete lack of copyright respect; questionable labor practices, disregard for other international standards like safety, etc...I don't mind you defending China - but try to do so in an intellectually honest manner. "I hope everyone here can see the true face of the Americans now, everyone look at him above, so you see, when you fear and cannot do anything, you turn to racist rants."Stereotyping the actions or comments of a single person into a generalization about an entire community of people is not the very definition of racism no? In a sense the outrage against the true face of American racists and assignment of one person's views into a broad stroke of everyone's view IS racism! While I don't agree with that poster's comments, and I have no idea if he/she is American to begin with, there is free speech in many parts of the world - something that doesn't exist in other areas of the world where most contrarian comments are suppressed by the state. But it is good to see you are able to conclude and generalize 300million people's beliefs based on one comment - no racism/stereotyping there (sarcasm intended).[/citation]

I respect your opinion and I admit what I said about American people is wrong, I am sorry I take it back. But I am pretty sure that most of the people here are American , well except me :)

[citation][nom]Lin[/nom]But I thought in the democratic Taiwan, the president (Chen-shui-bian) is not supposed to steal from the country then jet off to the US. Isn't he the one that always call for independence and act as if he really cares for Taiwan but in the end siphoned funds and jet off.[/citation]

No, he is currently under criminal investigation for misuse and gratifying of Special National Security Fund. It was his son, who was just about to attend a law school in the US, was summoned back due to the event.

Go, China GO!!!!
i think, maybe in five years china is going to kick intel´s ass.
when proposes to do something they just do it, they are amazing.
Have any of you watched the olympics?

Lol, didn't he just blame everything on his disabled wife? Not very manly of him...

You do realize that they're not subsidizing oil for you, right? Americans like us can only wish that were true. They're only caping gas prices within China to keep the people happy. It doesn't apply outside. Why would they want to sell you cheap gas at a loss?

And while the racist comments make by a vocal few Americans make the rest us feel bad, those who defend those rednecks are no better. This country is going down the drain because all those low IQ rednecks elected Bush into office. Clinton took over a big deficit from the first Bush in 92, turned it into a surplus in 8 years, the economy was booming, and then Bush the Lesser went into office, screwed up the economy, and turned the surplus back into a deficit. Hey, I'm all for the War on Iraq if he get oil out of them like he's supposed to do. But that's not happening. American oil companies are making record profits at the expense of everyone else, but the government would never cap oil prices like China did since they're the biggest campaign contributors. Democracy is a wonderful thing.

[citation][nom]Master Exon[/nom]Ron Paul would have fixed this.[/citation]
Ron Paul is a jesus freak. Like we really need 4 years of that kind of pain after dealing with Shrub for 8 years.

"But that's not happening. American oil companies are making record profits at the expense of everyone else"

Wow.. you must drink the Obama kool-aid. The profit margin at most oil companies is about (or under) 10%. To contrast take a look at the entertainment industry who have profit margins over 20%. In other words for every dollar taking in, many industries earn more in profit then the big bad evil, money stealing oil companies... funny no mention of this and making them pay their fair share (oh, they happen to contribute rather heavily to the democrats)

Apparently the FUD on record profits with no perspective that Democrats are spreading is working. Would it surprise you that Exxon earned ~80Bil last year before taxes and paid ~$40 BILLION IN TAXES... leaving ~40Bil in earnings. This is a lot but what is the magic # for fair.... apparently it is more than 50%.... yeah that will encourage job creation and keeping companies here. Let's take out 75-90% of their profits, that will incentivize them to keep investing in American jobs.

The budget surpluses during Clinton were while he WORKED with a Republican Congress and he should be commended for it, but keep in mind one of the larger bubbles in history happened to run up during his presidency. Clearly when one party is in control by themselves spending will get out of hand. And this is why Obama is a scary proposition - with a Democratic majority in the house, and potentially a super-majority in the Senate - the US will become Europe (my apologies to Europeans). High taxes (the US is already has the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the industrial world), government run programs (because obviously the government is far more efficient then private industry?) and wealth re-distribution. Capitalism at its best?

[citation][nom]Somebody_else[/nom]Yes, why on earth aren't we exporting technology to China? For cryin' out loud, we're wasting enough of our money on cheap Chinese junk, supporting their booming economy, while our economy is tanking. Let them buy decent technology from us so they can use it to make stuff that's actually worth buying. Just think, if AMD could get into that market ahead of Intel...[/citation]
Actually Intel and AMD do export their chips to China. I personally live in China and I see Intel and AMD chips everywhere in computer malls.

What makes anyone think that China isn't already actively trying to steal how the chips are made? They have stolen half of our military secrets already. They have an almost one to one copy of our Aegis cruiser. Open up the markets and let them buy our chips before they actually get that one to one copy and we get no profit.
PS. It's not racism, it's just national pride in one's companies.

If they want to make chips cool. Should we sell them chips for military applications... I'm guessing no. Should they stop their cheap labor practices... hard question. If they did, then they'd loose business, and those making verry little, might find themselves making nothing. Similar situation with Mexcian workers in USA planting all that cheap food.
Don't even get me started on comparing their economy to ours. Yeah it's big... now divide by the number of people there. I'm suprised as hell at the sheer numbers of extremely poor in China. Also the wealth curve there is probably really ugly, but I'm no economist.
In this modern era of mutually assured destruction, the main way for a major country to fail is to be mismanaged to death (RIP USSR) or have a civil war.

rofl, i am no chinese here, not defending the chinese either, what i find funny is some, if not most people try to comfort themself that this is POS and crap and will not threaten intel. but u know what, just by reading up all 4 pages, and the amount of 110 comments, i observe one thing, most of you here do care and actually feel the heat and show some signs of worries, if people don't care they would not read and comment. be honest, how many of you here after this report do not feel some kind of "emotions" ( i am not specifying it).
and yes i am a 2nd year uni student studying psychology.

people here can say whatever they want, but I am at least happy that China is going in the right direction and at least achieving something.

Btw, the article did not report that the 8 core version of Godson will put it in the same group to IBM's cell processor and Intel next generation Havendale and Auburndale processors that will be out next year.

You guys are all idiots. China needs the US as much as the US needs China. We are not both dependent upon each other. If one goes down so does the other.

What does Intel think a pattent is going to do against China? They have children working in factories, and can't even keep toxic substances out of the childrens toys they make.....

Chinese do not buy American goods because all they do is rip off the design and start producing for themselves. No racism here, they are just paying for their lack of respect for intellectual property.

Did you know that China; is a SLeeping Giant? And Europe too? Time will come that the US can no longer police the world because of it's going-down economy. Yes that's right, almost everything now is being made in China and that's basically booming their economy. Oh boy, a lot may say this is irrelevant but the bible really speaks of that time to come, and the signs are realy tru. ^_^

I'd hate to point out that you're a dumbass, but Ron Paul voted against almost everything Bush tried to do in congress.

Yeah, one-shot is correct. This isin't racism, it is nationalism because we want the better for our country (most people do).

But, it seems like many people are being selfish and looking at the fact that they can save a few bucks on a processor if china makes them. Well, did you ever realize that this will hurt the US economy a lot and you won't even be able to buy a processor because you wouldn't have a job.

And again, my post isin't racist. I am wanting the best for the USA (Even though I am of Chinese descent).

This is called nationalism because I want the best for my country, which is the United States.
