My current graphics card is XFX AMD Radeon R9 290 Double Dissipation(https://www.amazon.com/XFX-Radeon-Dissipation-R9290AEDFD-Graphic/dp/B00HHIPM5Q) and I'm wanting to upgrade to something worth spending around $300 (Canadian dollars) on. I want to be able to run the Witcher 3 and GTA V at 60fps+ on high settings and run Kingdom Come Deliverance around 60fps on med/high settings.

I've been looking at these benchmark sites to compare card performance:

https://www.videocardbenchmark.net

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Looking at what's on sale and Radeon RX VEGA 56 (https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX76885) looks like a great deal but the Gigabyte model has a lot of reviews saying it's defective so I don't want to go with that (see amazon reviews. (https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Rad...58558371&s=electronics&sr=1-3#customerReviews))
Then there's these GeForce GTX 1660 (https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX76293) and GeForce GTX 1060 (https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX63115). They are both around the same price, the specs look the same and I can't tell the difference between them except what the benchmark sites tell me, which is that the 1660 outperforms the 1060 significantly.

Would you suggest I trust benchmark sites and go with what performs best for value?

Personally I would research on both cards and see the difference on benchmarks and maybe watch a few reviews so you don't make the wrong choice I wouldn't trust JUST 1 benchmark but that is just me

You might get a 10-20% jump in performance with a GTX 1660. Not a whole lot TBH. RX Vega 56 would be a bigger step up if you can find one cheap enough.

Check out this video, which include many GPUs along with the R9 290, GTX 1660, and RX Vega 56.

Looks like RX Vega 56 or GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is the way to go depending on the price.
