Question choosing a monitor for gaming

Hello, I'm choosing a monitor and I've narrowed it down to these two: the Alienware 2523HF and the Dell G2524H. As far as I understand, neither of them supports G-Sync, correct? It seems that both monitors support AMD FreeSync. Will I be able to use it if I have an NVIDIA graphics card? Also, I saw on a website that it's possible to enable G-Sync on a monitor that doesn't officially support it using drivers. Is this true or not?

The first one can use adaptive sync the 2nd one says G sync.
