Same here, Artmic. My x6800 is damn fast. Not only that but I convinced my lab to get some Woodcrst machines, so now I'm Core 2 across the board.
I will likely be starting a Kentsfield/Cloverton thread soon.

depends on what you're doing (what applications), although i think it wont be too much faster (also depends on the model you're getting eg getting a e6300 and benching it against a 2ghz core duo would not be that fair as the core duo 2ghz would probably cost more, therefore you might be able to buy say the e6600, although the e6300 would probably beat core duo 2ghz.) :lol:
oh and the mobile core 2 duos (merom)are released now and i suspect you could probably buy a laptop with it, they are like conroe and allendale but use less energy, they should 'offer 20% more performance than core duo whilst still using the same power' intel says![]()
