Looking for a combination of motherboard and celeron. Any suggestion, looking for the best value, best performance, best stability after overclocking, best overclocking ability, I mean the best that you think, not PIII please.
had a friend who got a celleron 1.1 this last weekend.
and me a big athlon performance fan.
why?
cauz the only other option was a pentium4...
3 p4 systems were available to them, 2 had sdram, one with a tnt2m64, and the 3rd was priced beyond what anyone would pay.
they wanted a prebuilt system not for gaming...
i think they got a decent deal considering

Celeron 1.2 + i815e mobo (like asus tusl2c) would be good option. They are decent overclockers, most will hit 1.5Ghz, while a few hit 1.6Ghz+. And it smokes all coppermine p3's with ease at lower price point.
You don't need also to hunt down those 166mhz sdram chips, too.
I don't get it man, the Cel2's weren't all that past about 600mhz, below that they overclocked higher than the PIII's available at the time... but anyway, the Celeron 1.2Ghz uses the .13 process and 256K of L2, plus it doesn't seem to be out of line to get one up to a 133mhz fsb, where's the problem?
