Compaq used to have a link that would tell you what your computer hardware
configuration is by interrogating your machine. Does anyone know if this
link still exists and where it is? I believe it would give serial numbers
for memory and other devices as purchased from the manufacturer.

You might also try posting your inquiry in the alt.sys.pc-clone.compaq
newsgroup. Someone closer to the Compaq branch of the family may be able to
