I currently have a MSI Z370 A Pro and i5-8400.

I'm planning to upgrade the CPU alone to i7-9700k or i9-9900k
I can afford both as it is cheap now than before

When checking out PC Part Picker it said "Needed a BIOS Update"
My current Bios Version/Date - "American Megatrends Inc. 2.10, 05-09-2017"
Need clarity on this.

Apart from this will I be facing any compatibility issues.?

Thanks in Advance.!

I doubt the VRM’s on that motherboard will run a 9900k properly. I wouldn’t go higher than the 9700k.

If i'm getting i9-9900k
I'm not going to OC it, I do casual gaming (mostly COD MW & Warzone) & regular work stuff

I'm getting it because its cheaper now and I dont have to spend extra on Mobo & I can upgrade my GPU or MOBO in near future to its comparability

will i still have to be worried about ruining my VRM?

TIA

If the VRM’s overheat the cpu will throttle. If this happens too often it may reduce the life of the motherboard. The 9900k is very power hungry and really needs to be paired with high end motherboards and coolers.
