I had the same problem. I turned out to be the way the motherboard
assigned the resources to the different controllers. The Nero techs sent
me a little patch to run to compensate. Since then I've rearranged my
devices. Prior to either of these I disabled my DVD-reader in device
manager prior to burning with the CD/DVD-burner.
