Hi i am new to these forums, but i have looked over the website a good few times.

neways, my current tower i am running is:

AMD D/C 4400+ 2.2Ghz
Asus A8N32-Sli Deluxe
Corsair 2gb Ram
XFX 7600GT xxx G/C
600watt PSU
etc etc

i am just a lil concerned about my CPU tempature, as it is running at 39-46oC, which in dual core technology is VERY wrong, as i have been told and read that they should be running at temps of 25 on idle -36 on load (or so).

I have just recently replaced the standard AMD heatsink with an artic freeze 64 pro, which as i have read it is a very gd heatsink, i also included a layer of akasa thermal compound. Doing this i would have thought the temp would have dropped to a normal sort of temp. BUT, it has not it is still running at 39-46!

This is a really big concern to me, as my system keeps freezing + crashing!

any advice on how to overcome this problem will be taken to good use.

Cheers in advance :)

A max temp of 46 is well within specs. That is not your problem.
Most common reasons for freezing and crashing are ram and psu. Try bumping the vdimm by1/10th of a volt. This often cures problems with ram.

I have a couple of those dual core chips. They run about the same as yours. The freezer pro 64 will lower those temps from 4-8c, depending on your setup. The problem will also decrease if you can figure a way to get the heat from the video card out of your computer.

I have that same motherboard running an sli configuration. It was terribly hot, but after purchasing arctic cooler gizmos for my video cards, that pulled the hot air from the cards out the back, it reduced the inside ambient temps a few deg. c. ( dual slot cooler ) That was worth the purchase price, and you should look into one for your card, as they have been discontinued for ones that keep the air inside the cases...... really stupid in my opinion.

similar to this, but find one for your card.... good luck

Your temps are definatley fine, my X2 3800+ is @ 2.55ghz and is getting 48 - 50 degrees celcius max on prime95 after about 6 hours so far, and will be goin for about another 6 or so atleast, so I would think you are fine and need to look elseware in the system for the problem.
