Hey all
I have a Surface Pro 1796

Currently running 2 monitors from the connected Surface Pro dock via USB C to Display Port
And the Surface pro itself (3 screens total)

The Surface Pro itself has a Mini Display Port
I connected a Mini Disaply Port to HDMI Port to a 3rd monitor and it shows up as
"this monitor is disabled "

I enable it and it disables one of my other monitors.

In the disppay settings it only has
Extent this Display
Or
Extent to monitor
1 to 2
2 to 3
1 to 3 etc.

No matter what I choose I cannot get all 4 working at once.

I will add this is a work computer so I'm unable to mess around to much with settings, device manger etc
I just want to know is this issue common?
And Is it fixable ?

Thanks all.

Hey Just wanted to provide an update,

you are both indeed correct,

This Surface Pro's integrated GPU only allows 3 Screens.

So what I have done is:

  • Plug 2 monitors in the dock (USB C to Display port)
  • Then I brought a Mini Display Port to HDMI to plug in to my 3rd monitor to the side of the surface Pro
  • I went in to Display Settings a clicked on my Surface pro monitor icon
  • Scrolled down and selected "disable this display"
That way the Surface Pro Screen is disabled allowing me to use 3 big monitor.

Thanks for all your help.

Kind Regards,

Amatex.
