Hey folks,

Wanted to get some opinions on my next machine, as I've upgrades the P4 I've got now to the max and I want to get into the PCI-E realm so I can run my 24" monitor at max rez playing games. I'm not what you would call a hardcore gamer, but if I see something new I want to give a run, I want the machine to be able to run it. The ability to upgrade this machine as time goes on is important to me as well, as you can see from my current box I've milked just about all I can out of it.

Here's what I'm running now, Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz / 2814MB RAM / NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS.

I saw this online, it's close to what I want to spend, and wanted to get some opinions on it as well:

If you read this far, thanks very much, and I look forward to your feedback.

YUP ! Go with the 1366 mobo platform gigabyte x58 ud5 / i7 920 intel cpu/ good deals on combo with the ddr3 ram corsair is great/ ATI has put out the first direct x 11 graphics card ATI RADEON 5850 and 5870 this card is the best " single" card on the market and compares to the gtx 295 and its a dual card. You can get whatever power supply and hdd and case you like as long as it fits the ATX mobo go with 1000 w psu as you may wanna get a second video card down the road just in case! stay away from the ssd drive hype they aint worth the money yet just get a couple of wd blcks and put them in a raid 0 ! or 0 ,1 whatever! HAPPY GAMING !
