I want to play games at high/ultra 60FPS and my GTX 1070 died a few months ago and with the way current prices are, I was surprised to see a reasonably priced graphic - the GIGABYTE RX 6600 for 330 USD. My question is will this graphic card be a noticeable upgrade? On Tom's ranking it shows a ~50% FPS jump. Should I take the plunge and buy it or is there a reason to not get it (like PCIe 4.0 vs PCIe 3.0 performance considering my older motherboard.)

With the memorial day weekend around the corner, are there more discounts expected?

i went from a GTX 1080 Ti to an RX 6700 XT and it was barely noticeable.
yours would be a similar situation.

though your CPU is a big factor with how many frames it can actually feed to the GPU.
i was using an i7-8700K running at 5GHz for both cards and frame rates were similar in the most demanding games.
maybe 5-10 more fps at most with very slightly higher in-game settings

My GTX 1070 died

considering that you have no GPU at all right now it may be worth it but that really depends on the resolution you may want to use in the future, what type of settings, and what type of performance you are looking to get.
