I bought this case finally. So, I'll get my new micro build in a micro case afterall. I installed the CPU and heatsink and RAM just now. I managed to install the FX55 939 HSF on to the AM2 bracket. It's copper core with copper heatpipes and a larger fan than the stock AM2 fan that came with the AMD 5000 X2. I'll know if it seated well in a few days. Now waiting for that Micro case. I may paint the giant power on button black and add a couple of fans, one side panel and one floor. There are no lights on the case, so I'll install a Scythe LED fan controller. Should look like a $30 case at least by the time I'm done.

Here is the FX 55 HSF 939 mounted on to the 780G AM2 MB. Everything measured up identical. The lock down was tight except the locking arm has no latch to lock the arm firmly in place. Everything looks tight to me. I mean the heatsink fits down firmly on top of the CPU housing. I checked the fit and double checked it, It's a good fit. I'll see if there is a heat problem in a couple of days when I build it. Compared to the stock AM2 HSF, this cooler is substancial with a much larger fan.

Did the same thing on my wifes Gigabyte AM2, but had to file down 2 Plastic raised nubs on the AM2 socket retainer because the heatpipes were hitting them and keeping the heatsink from laying flat on the CPU.

You'd better check that out , I have the exact same heatsink, came with my FX57 if I remember correctly.

That's good to know. I checked with some of the HSF's on Newegg and there are many that cover both the AM2 and 939. The Fan pictured (the FX55 939 HSF) fits very snug up against the top of the CPU. So, I'm expecting good things. I also cancelled the order on the $24 Rosewill case and ordered this much more economically priced $21 jewel. I think the solid black front of this one will look boss with the black Scythe Kaze Master w/blue LED fan controller I bought recently. If I don't like the Rosewill case, I can just use the all Black Antec 300 and have my LED effect. Also, I have a new Antec 650 watt Antec PSU, but it's not modular. Tight fit in a small case I imagine. I also have a PCP & C 610 brand new. That's probably even bigger. A nice efficient 450 watt unit would work great in here, but I don't have one available. My wife has them all!

Man a lot of weird things are happening with the house next door. Michelle who is a vicitim of the Bank Repossession and the loss of an estimated 400-500K in the deal is lurking around inside the house! Then the new owner is playing cat and mouse trying to catch her and tell her she has to leave now!!! Shat! I'm afraid she is going to set the place on fire!!! "Hello, 911...yeah I'm on fire over here...hurry please!!!" I had to tell my wife to be quiet and listen carefully to what I am saying.

Then Burell (a guy) shows up blocking my car in the driveway. I approached him last night out front trying to deliver what he referred to as a 'present' (an obvious bottle of liquor with a bow) to Michelle next door to see if she was at home! I got Burrell's license plate number. Then a small blue car buzz's the house next door for over an hour driving by checking to see if someone is there at the house. Fifty times! What s bunch of tards. I hope arson isn't involved. I emailed the new owner of the house and suggested he have one of the fine, dedicated three hundred Police officers employed by Anaheim City Hall asist him in ejecting her from the premises! I had suggested he hire a locksmith the other day, but someone packing may be needed to remedy the escalating situation over there.

Keep shopping badge and Newegg will be paying you to take the case, $22.00 for a computer case, can't be much to it man, got to be flimsy.

You definitely got some weird crap going on next door man !!!

badge the reason I started this thread is because my Vista64 performance had degraded so bad I was considering going back to Vista32, even during this thread I had the problems with the ripping and playback of the DVDs.

All the problems were caused by using a USB Flash Disk I was using for Ready Boost, check out my post, "To Ready Boost or not to Ready Boost that is the Question", I have my Vista64 performance back man!

I haven't checked the readyboost thread yet. I use readyboost with all my Vista systems. My wife, my son and I all use Vista 64 on or main personal use computers. I have to say we have very few problems. I am very happy with the performance of my q9450 Vista 64 system in my configuration. I am super pleased with the sytem, I can't say enough for the performance. I enjoy it immensly.

Update, next door Bank Repossesion. That was a man hired by the new owner to evict the previous owner who is acting like a two year old refusing to vacate the house. After three attempts without success t evict, I believe a locksmith and a policeman will be needed to complete the transaction. :sol:

 I have a poor constitution. Take it easy. Or I'll need therapy over this. Well, I'll unpack it and have a look. I liked it because it has 3 external 5.25 bays in a micro. And it will hold multiple hard drives, like maybe six. and they are easily accessible. I can set it side by side with the Antec 300 I have. Both are solid black front bezel. So, my LED fan controller will have the look I want either way. So, I'm confident in getting this done and having a handsome system. I am reality.

Ryan I got the Rosewill $21 micro case case a few hours ago. It's really a great case, exactly what I wanted man! OK, this ASUS 780G AMD 5000X2 is rollin! I'm a gonna load up Vista 64 hopefully in a minute. A couple of pictures of this messterpiece of a Micro machine. Wooohooo! Gonna do me some Nah Tiv crauss fahr!

Hey man, I just got it running. I'm not finished all right. I'm going to try and load Vista 64 now. This will take me a couple of days, I mean messin' with it's mojo. The Scythe Kaze master fan controller is bitchin'. I mean it's kock.

Really nice wire tuck job, should have great airflow, I'm going to resurrect my old gaming setup in the Coolermaster Centurion case I'm getting tomorrow.

FX60 w Tuniq Tower 120 Cooler, DFI Lanparty, 2G Corsair 3500 Pro, BFG 8800GT, PC P&C 750W P/S, LG Sata DVDRW, and probably a 200 or 320g [haven't decided yet] HDD, probably will put WinXP Pro on it since I already have a HDD with it installed on it.

That old FX60 was one bad CPU in her day, still ain't slouchy today, its not no Intel Rice Burner, but it will play Crysis with no problems, especially running an 8800GT.

Planning on using it as a Lan setup, my cousins having a fit for some Co Op online gaming, he played Crysis on my gaming rig over Christmas holidays and now he's hooked. LOL

Sounds good. I have several similar AMD systems up and runnng for a long time. I use them all the tme.

AMD 64 4800X2 (the first dual core eva released) Socket 939, Vista 32, 2 x 1GB OCZ Platinum PC3200 2-3-2-5, 2 x EVGA 8600GT, A8N32-SLI.

AMD FX55 A8N-SLI, 4 x 512 MB PC4000 Crucial Ballistic, 2 x EVGA 7800GT

AMD 64 4000+ San Diego 2.4GHz., 2 x 1GB OCZ Platinum PC3200, EVGA 7900GTO, NF4 MB

Then I have three AMD 64 socket 754's running including a top of the line AMD 3700 2.4 GHz.

Then I have a 3200 XP socket A 462. That's top of the line. I may go pull a fan out of the case to finish this new build.

Man, I installed an ATI driver off the ASUS MB CD and CCC poped up and said, "your in crossfire dude!" Cool. I had read the manual on how to do that. I know if I had not read the manual this would have never happened. 8)

I have Vista 64 installed now on the new 780G. I'm sorting out the system drivers and will flash the BIOS in a while. Then I want to add another 2 GB DIMM, install a couple more fans to complete the set of 4 the Kaze master controls. Then I want to do sopmething with all the wire hanging out the back end. Then I have a lot of software to install including Microsoft Small Business 2000 Suite. I may have to hobble over and take a nap!!!! Hahaha! An FX60 with Tuniq Tower 120? I have a Tuniq Tower 120 sitting in the box. I used a mciro PSU I had in the garage for this 780G build. I think it's 430 watt. Aprieva. I have to buy a modular PSU for this Monster $21 case I have here. The Antec 650 and PCP & C 610 just have too many cables for the case. Hey I can cut some off! Maybe after the nap.

That's my son's cat sleeping in the basket. The micro build placed next to an Antec 300. I have two additional new Antec 300's in the box. I have 8 gigs of RAM in the build now. I'll use the system some and decide if a quad core is in it's future. It's an easier case to work with than the Coolermaster micro elite I built a while back. It's slightly wider and not as tall as the CM micro I mentioned. And this case has easy room for four or five hard drives! Consider that kind of space if you look at a micro. This is the easiest, most builder friendly micro case I have used. The side panels are stong enough as is the rest of the case. I had to tweak the panels with a flathead screwdriver to get them to cooperate, plus I ran the power supply 4 pin 12v lead out the back panel side. There is jusr=t enough clearance in between the back side panel and the MB tray for the PSU 12v lead back there. It's a very good case for MY wants and needs.

Got my case and P/S today, the case looks fantastic the P/S was DOA, had shipping damage, it obviously had gotten dropped on concrete or something the, steel outer casing was racked back at one corner, it would take a lot of pressure to do that.

It must have been dropped from about 10 to 15' distance to cause that kind of damage, PC P&C doesn't use any type of foam packing in their actual boxing of the P/S, Oh Well RMA.

Haha. I worked for UPS in 1973. That's more than 35 years ago. Throwing boxes around the loading docks and breaking the contents hasn't changed much. Whoops! Let us know how building that CM590 goes.

My 780G is working great. I flashed the BIOS and updated the system drivers, installed JAVA, Direct X, MS Small Business Office Suite 2000, and a lot of other software. Still have a way to go loading all the sofware I have. Have to go over to Fry's and buy an 80mm fan. The fan controller apparently needs a fan with the third control wire to be able to adjust the speed. I can't get a standard two wire fan to work with the controller with the adapters I have. I also bought some duct tape to hold the PSU leads up against the back of the MB tray. A friend and I replaced a water heater in one of the offices yesterday. It was in a small closet sitting up off the floor. My aching back.
