Well, it never bothers me to asnwer this kind of people who I know really asks this questions cuz they really dont know the answer and dont know where to find out.

As I said, what bothers me, is when people come and try to make everybody change their minds and make everyboyd believe what they believe (stupidity)

i no, it is a stupid question i know. But im confused lol
To make it totally clear to you I would suggest this (the E4300 is not yet in the CPU charts but it's performance is really close to that of the X2 3800+, so you can use the X2 3800+ as the E4300 and get an idea of it's performance  )

If you get a decent board for the Core2, the E4300s OC so well its nearly guaranteed you can run it at 2.8GHz. If you add in the cost of the board that OCs well versus a shit board that is stable at stock, then you realize the E4300 is really more a bargain and top performer.

Athlon X2s don't overclock nearly as well...

Thanx for ur recommendations, but im set on Core 2 duo sry 😀. What I need in a mobo is atleast

24pin main power
12v 4 pin
atealst 4x DDr 184pin
ATA 100
and Core 2 Duo support (LGA 775)

Im having trouble findin 1 that has enough DDR slots. I dont want to additionaly buy DDR 2 ram. i dont want to pay that much. HELP ME PLZ FIND 1 IF POSSIBLE!! i dont get much money so i cant buy the DDR2 ram, mobo, and care 2 duo lol.

Oc, so what you are saying that since most x2 3600s go from 1.9ghz to 3ghz they don't oc well because the e4300 goes from 1.8ghz to max 3.3ghz in general  a cheap x2 3600 wins in my book against an e4300 for a cheap build, because you won't notice that great of a difference except for benchmarking, and gaming, and your everyday person will not video edit or photoshop all day,

Erm, you're saying you won't notice that the X2 is slower than the E4300 "EXCEPT for benchmarks, gaming, video editing, or graphics work.. in which the Core2Duo is clearly faster..." . So for what applications WON'T you notice that the AMD is slower, .. making coffee? Feeding the cat?

No such thing as a stupid question -- if you don't know, you don't know....

You are only stupid if you choose to not ask the question and remain ignorant....

There is no shame in ignorance, only shame in remaining ignorant.

Jack

mind if i make that my lifes' motto/mantra?

Well, in that case, you're kind of screwed. No Core2Duo compatable motherboards have 4xDDR1 slots. There are some "hybrid" boards like
THIS one, but you only get 2xDDR1 or 2xDDR2 slots. AMD's s AM2 processors only work with DDR2, but you can get a s939 setup(which uses DDR1). The problem with going that route, is that many/most s939 motherboards get weird with all 4 DIMM slots populated....the RAM will be forced to run @ 333MHz instead of the proper 400MHz and/or run at a 2T command rate(vs. the better performing 1T). Also, not only does your current motherboard not support Core2Duo, but it doesn't support any dual-core processors...PERIOD! So even the much-hated Pentium D isn't even a possibility. Tough choices for you, bud...GL :)

ASRock ConRoe865PE

It has 4 DDR1 slots with C2D support
5 x PCI slots
1 x AGP 8X slot
2 x ATA100 IDE connectors
2 x Serial ATA 1.5 Gb/s connectors
20 pin ATX power connector
4 pin 12V power connector

 . o O (I was trying to find that MB)

Though... OP, good luck in finding that MB. I think froogle had one hit when I saw the name of it, in err.. France. :?

Please take a look at some benchmarks before asking these question.

You can even try to browse the forums for similar posts there should be at least 10000 similar posts.

oh and i just realized, my case can hole a max of 10x9 size mobo, and that mobo u found me (which would work) is only available in other countrys. but i tink i have to do with 2x184pin and 2x240 pin, and put my 512mb and 256mb in there and have 756mb of ram for a time until i get another 512 or higher. anyways DDR2 is better obviously so ill have 756 then switch over to DDR2 when i can. Oh and do they have a 24pin to 20pin cable converter? or will a 24pin work with a 20 pin? i know they make 20 to 24.

this is the 1 im thinking of.

You guys do realize that P4s are still selling, right? Most of the world is not filled with geeky enthusiasts.

Most of the world is not informed by PC shops properly. I actually went into PC world and went "what's the fastest processor you sell here" and he directed me to a D940 and said "This is the fastest we sell because it's 3.2ghz". I then replied "I thought the Core 2 Duo was faster" and to this he sort of laughed and went "they only go up to 3ghz!". These people are meant to be trained and "knowledgable".

So... did you laugh in the salesman's face and say... You stupid noob, or did correct him for the public?
