I am getting an error message when attempting to connect my USB cable to my
scanner. I believe the problem might be with a corrupt file setupapi.log. I
have two such files and I do not know whether I am supposed to have two or
not. Also, I am not sure if I can delete these files and where to get one to
replace the two I have deleted.

David, more info on setupapi.log
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/install/setupapilog.mspx

Most likely the problem is related to the Scanner driver or Software. Go
to the manufacturers website and get the latest
WinXP driver and software. Google the Scanner's make and model if
needed.

Thank you very much for the link. The error message I am getting when I plug
in my USB cable for my scanner is - - Windows could not load the installer
for Image. I have spent a lot of time with Epson. This is a brand new
scanner with the latest driver. They are telling me it is a Windows problem.
I believe this is the case since I had a previous Epson scanner which all of
a sudden stopped working, so I bought a new scanner thinking it was a problem
with the scanner, but it is not since I have having the same issue with the
new scanner. I did see some documentation about installation problems and
the setupapi.log, but I do not know how to fix it so I can get my scanner to
work.
