Question Corsair vs Gskill DDR5 (timings, voltage, DIE manufacturer) ?

Which RAM is better ( both work on my MB with XMP profiles as specified, AM5 platform):

  1. Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6400 2x48GB, CL32-40-40-84, 1.40V
  2. Gskill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-6400 2x48GB, CL32-39-39-102, 1.35V
Differences:

A) 1.4V vs 1.35V: Does the higher voltage have a relevant disadvantage (power consumption, lifespan, heat development)?

B) Timings/Latency: CL32-40-40-84 vs CL32-39-39-102 --> Which overall values are better, Corsair or Gskill?

C) The DIE manufacturers: Gskill apparently has a Hynix A DIE. I don't know about Corsair. Does the DIE manufacturer matter if I don't overclock the RAM or change the timings/latency?

Outside benchmark tests where you might measure a 1% difference, I doubt you'll see any noticeable difference in ordinary programs between the Corsair and Gskill RAM.

In general, tighter timings are better, so I'd probably opt for 32-39-39-102 at 1.35V instead of 32-40-40-84 and a slightly higher 1.40V, but I'd be quite happy with either type.

If you're running DDR5 RAM at XMP 6400MT/s and 1.35 or 1.40V, you're already overclocking the RAM above its default JEDEC speed, which might be 4800MT/s. Your mobo/CPU may or may not be stable at 6400MT/s.

The only time you need to worry about A-die, B-die, etc is when you're running Thaihoon Burner with a view to applying even tighter manual timings to your RAM than the values loaded into SPD or at frequencies well above the XMP rating.

One point to check is if either type is mentioned in the mobo QVL. You'll probably need the latest BIOS for 48GB DIMMs.
