This is a email o wrote to Bert Toepelt, Patrick Schmid and David Strom of tomshardware.com but i would like also the comments on the people of this forum if it would be a good idea.. I am pasting the email as i wrote it.
Hi, as I don’t know to whom to write this, I am writing it to Bert Toepelt, Patrick Schmid and David Strom. My concern is that the benchmark you are using to compare the CPU on 3D Render is not good to compare the differences on the architecture alone. I am not speaking of the program itself (3d max 6) but to the image you are rendering to compare the performance on each of these different processors. As I am talking to some friends the live on render it seems that the image you are using is a too much basic image as it as they say only a scan line render and does not reflect the performance as one that would use the system for rendering… I would gladly provide you to a link to this forum where they are using a 3d max vray file (that one can download to benchmark the system) this vray file includes reflect, mirror, transparency, standard opacity, IOR test, sub surface scattering, complex geometry (irra test) , motion Blur , Caustics, 2D and 3D displacements. I know it is a lot more complex and would require more time to render than the other ones you had, but I also think that it would worth more also would be a lot better to discern the differences on the processors as on the one you have now, some processors get the same timing even when they are different speeds (Anthon 3400+, 3800+, 4000+, FX-53) so maybe with this we will see a difference on all these processors. The address of the forum is :

I hope I can get a email from at least one of you about this. In the event that forum is not available I have the files and can provide it to you… Thanks a lot for you time
