[SOLVED] CPU randomly maxing out 100% periodically

EVGA 1080ti
i7-8700k (both not overclocked)
16gb RAM

Sometimes my CPU will just ping up to 100% for no apparent reason and sit there, until I restart my PC.

It seems to be tied to gaming somehow. It's happened at least 3 times when launching Escape From Tarkov; when the game launches BattleEye (The anti-cheat service). And it just happened again when trying to launch Fortnite.

When I check the task manager during this, it just shows the CPU pinged at 100% but nothing on the list is particularly high, nothing seems to be eating up all that power.

Any ideas?

so how do you know is at 100% if the task manger show nothing is running high?
did you look at process for all user?
what the disk usage when during the cpu at 100%?

so the total at the top is 100% but looking through the processes it does seem to add up. There's only 1 user. I didn't see disk usage but I'll check that the next time it happens

there system, local service, network service, etc

Perhaps uninstall battle eye and reinstall it and see how it goes that’s a easy first step
