Hi, I have an Asus KV55D laptop with an i7-3630qm processor.
I opened it up to clean it out and realized the CPU wasn't soldered on, and had PQA989, i did some searching and found it was 1,2,3 gen CPUs.
Is there any compatible processor that is better than mine ?

Hi, there are a few... although the only benefit is higher clock speeds and a little more Cache...

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i7-3630QM-Notebook-Processor.80051.0.html

Top model available in that range is the i7 - 3940XM which has a 3.9ghz max boost (vs 3.4 for your cpu) with 8mb L3 cache instead of the 6mb your cpu has.

The performance boost isn't going to be massive, so probably not worth it unless you can find the cpu for a good price.
