Is it ok that im gonna put a new cpu into an old motherboard? if so caan u tell me what to do? I'm thinking of swaping my old i5200k out of a ASRrock z68 extreme3 gen3

For that mobo, as long as it's one of these, you should be fine:

Supports 3rd and 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 / Xeon® / Pentium® / Celeron® in LGA1155 Package

Hello. I have an asus p8z77-i deluxe/wd motherboard and i am using a intel core i5 3570k @ 3.40 ghz. 1. What is the best gaming processor i can get for this motherboard? 2. Should I even get a different one at all?

If the motherboard is compatible, yes.
You should also leverage other factors as the wattage requirements for each CPU but, or weather you have the latest BIOS, but chances are it will go smoothly.

Yep, just be sure the bios supports the cpu and the cpu is a known working one and it should be a nice and easy swap. Use nice new paste too.
