Good evening. So, I’m helping my cousin build a PC from scratch, for now we’ve only decided that we’ll be using the GeForce GTX 1660 6gb DDR5 (probably from Gigabyte), while we came along with some CPUs, most notably AMD fx 8350 4.2Ghz, I have my doubts whether or not it would bottleneck (or even if it’s compatible). So, I need you guys to help me choose it, thanks in advance.

No reason at all to go with AMD FX. There are simply way better options with AMD Ryzen today. The Ryzen 5 1600 AF is $85 on Amazon. It's nearly identical to the Ryzen 5 2600. Then there is the Ryzen 5 3600, which is arguable the most popular CPU right now.
Would I see to much of a difference between those two? I mean, the Ryzen 5 1600 AF is waaaay cheaper than the Ryzen 5 2600... besides, no bottleneck with the GPU?

This might give some clue. I think you'll be fine. But to be honest, skip the 1660. For about 30 dollars more, get the 1660 super. The 1660 super can be had for around 230. Whereas the 1660 should be about 200. The super should only be 3-5% slower than the 1660 ti.

I actually have one, just haven't installed it. But I would say if you are comfortable with it, you could overclock the 1600 a little to bump the performance. But according to that thread from quora, you should be ok running a 1070ti with that cpu. The 1660 super and 1660ti should be about the performance of a gtx 1070 which is one level below the 1070ti.
