Whatever your reservations about Crysis 2, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for any gamer with a dual-core CPU and a video card at least as strong as an HD 6570 to pass on this deal!

Absolutely.

Hell, if I had an Athlon 64 x2 and a 3870 I would pick it up to run on low settings at 1024x768 and it would still be worth it at that price!

Right :) Or a Pentium D and an 8800 or GT 240. DX9 High is not that hard to run and it still looks amazing.

I was maxing it in DX9 at 40+fps with the equivalent of a 5750 (5870m). And it was breathtakingly beautiful - even on the laptop.

And the great thing about Crysis 2 is that even on low it looks amazing, and can be played by low-end rigs.

Oh trust me I'm familiar with unleashed, I got it when it was $50. I've mastered almost every track in that game. I bought grand turismo for PS3 this summer and I couldn't play it. I felt like I was bored. Unleashed on my PC maxed out drops to 55 fps in the opening cut scene and never drops below 75 when racing... I'd say averages about 100. To me it's photorealistic. I have the Dirt series but nothing compares to unleashed on PC; even Forza... in my humble opinion anyway. I just played Crysis 2, pretty impressive but the last two are definitely better. I'm going to add some of the mods you mentioned.

Here's a quick vid I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otMizbi2upE

I was just playing with the 3d option enabled and it was pretty awesome. I have the game maxed but I didn't try the two mods you recommend. I have to figure out how to install them. I saw your posts a while back on this thread so I'm going to revert back. I already installed the tess and res mods.

The mods are worth it.

They come with an installer, just be sure to set the path to the right directory because it will try to install it where it shouldn't go sometimes. It goes to your Crysis 2 directory.

With 3D and the mods - I hope you have the horsepower. I sure as hell don't.

Thanks man. I keep installing it to the Crysis 2 mods folder but they're not showing up. The way I run 3d is just on one screen so far and it's in the 3d option in game and the one on my monitor as opposed to using nVidia's.

It's a shame Tekken 6 sucked so bad. I couldn't deal with the load times and the controller was unresponsive compared to Tekken Tag for PS2. My best friend and I, who is now deceased, logged in well over 300 hours against each other I'm sure. We both got fired from our jobs at one point and just played each other nonstop.... just sad the new one was a disaster.

I'll tell you what man, we talked about batman arkham city and how weakly optimized it is. I've been playing Crysis 2 for a few hours total now and the tess seems very well done. I know it is a port with patched dx11 and such but I think they actually did a very nice job with the game. I know it's not going to set my PC on fire like Crysis 1 did to a few games but it's very impressive nonetheless.

Yes definitely. I'm surprised my current 580 handles it so buttery smooth but I'd bet crytek did a solid job programming this one as it's not their first rodeo with PC graphics. I'm wondering if anybody saw Crytek's demo they did for military training, it is a similar concept as Bohemia's VBS2.

It would be great to see an ArmA style game from Crytek.

CryEngine3 can generate maps as big as 4500 square kilometers, so that isn't a problem.

I'm sure you've heard "ignorance is bliss,". I think the axiom is super applicable in this case. Thanks for the post. I suppose I should be thankful I have to nvidia card coming in tomorrow. I'm buying the laziness aspect over the conspirital aspect. Regardless, it's pretty shady to screw PC gamers over as we put crytek on the map and stayed the course even when crysis wa melting PCs 4 years ago. It is most defInktely a better optimized game than Batman AC. I beat Arkam Assylum a few days ago so I could play in order but I'm not so sure I'm going to continue with the series. I am really enjoying Crysis 2 right now.

Arkham Asylum was pretty straight forward, with a small world compared to city.
City had all those side missions to do, which I liked.
IMO, City was better. Especially the boss fights. True that it was almost the same, but they seemed better in city.
I loved the game's combat as well. Double take down rules!

Well, I'm sure City improved a bunch of elements of the gameplay, but what I really care about is the story - or at least how it draws me in. I really liked in Asylum that you start with very few abilities and have to work to get them, whereas in City it's just like "here's all your stuff!"

I should probably give it more time, but I just found Asylum really drew me into the plot and I really felt like Batman.

Is it P2W or published by EA? I still have a hard time wrapping my head around giving crytek more money after crysis 2...
