Check my thread on Crysis 3. Was hoping to start getting some back and forth going from the Crysis crowd 😛

It's kind of a blend of both city and the jungle.. right?

Alright man, I'll have to check that out. You got a link?
Not from what little I have seen. In fact, EA didn't mean to announce it. It leaked. Then EA scrambled and at the last minute decided to put together a half-assed promotion of it and run with it. It is still over a year away and every thing I have seen tells me that it will be last gen DX9 craaaap and in the city.

The pic on dailytech's article looks amazing, IMO.

And I agree, I doubt Crytek/EA will invite the same lack-of-polish backlash twice, but I've been wrong before...

...granted, it was just the once. 😛

I have been playing C2 at 5760 X 1080 and it's pretty awesome. It is definitely more linear than the 1st two and I thought the 1st two were pretty over-hyped as being open world. With that being said, the paths in the 1st two were like 12 lane highways versus one way secondary roads in this Crysis 2. It's a fun and beautiful game but I'd rather play BF3. Somebody on this post stated that they didn't like how Crytek removed the speed option from the 1st two.. I concur. I hope Crytek steps it up and makes a modern combat in an open environment.

+1

That's exactly how I'd describe the difference. Not that there's anything wrong with the latter, it just puts more pressure on the storytelling and combat areas to be top-notch - and Crysis 2 was more... middle-notch in those areas.

I would be happy to see the original suit modes reintroduced but each one given a single keybind, or at least the option for such. And I don't mean a dual-purpose key with double taps and things of that nature like Crysis and Warhead. I mean just let me dedicate a key on my keyboard to each function. That was the part of Crysis 2 that felt so good, even despite having fewer options total.

I'm in total agreement with you. I think the story is solid but it so blatantly obvious that it was a console port. They could have easily pulled off Crysis looks with extra goodies and wider space to make the ultimate game but it obviously wasn't financially sound to program with us in mind.

We should print and frame this webpage.

Unicorns looked much better in Crysis1.......and they had a lot more room to roam around. Plus - they gimped the Unicorn's abilities in Crysis2, and the mane and tail physics were garbage.

^lol

^^lol

Here's hoping Crytek has the time and common-sense to upgrade the physics/interactivity and width of their corridors to at least Crysis standards for Crysis 3.

*soapbox*

Seriously, how difficult or expensive would it have been to allow access to the next street over?

+1 Hoping American McGee develops Crysis 3 Unicorns. They've pushed hair physics further than any other development studio. It is their legacy.

Damn, why'd you have to go and do that so soon for? I was just about to mate with my doppleganger (he is soooo dreamy). :pfff:

+1 Although playing Alice:MR on Origin's website seriously freaked me out. The books were freaky enough.

Also, with a PhysX feature like that, Radeon users will be even more out-in-the-cold. nVidia users get all the good stuff. And all we get is lower power usage, a few more dollars in our wallets, and inferior drivers...

Boy, you nailed that one.

AMD cards suck ass (excusez-moi moderators).

I have said it before and I will say it again...this will be my last Intel/AMD build - at least for the foreseeable future.

I'm going Intel/nVidia all the way, at least if I can help it.

I also liked it. I think the reason people didn't like it is because there was little shooting involved, and it was possible to get lost (kinda). Not enough hand holding and not enough shooting for most lol.

I really hope that the Crysis 3 world is much more open. I like how it's looking so far though from the few pictures I've seen. I think it is gonna be good. I just hope that they change some of the main functions in the game that they put in in Crysis 2 such as key bindings for suit abilities. Some of the stuff that they implemented in Crysis 2 is really nice though. And I really hope that they don't try to "do something different" and ruin it all.

Seems fine to me. I personally don't mind Origin. It works a little better than steam for me, it's generally more hands off, and so far every game has been made to run without the use of the Origin client within a week of its release. It might only be downloadable through Origin, but it will be sold on Amazon, GF, Gamersgate etc. The only site you won't see selling it is Steam, which isn't a big loss for me personally since their release of Crysis 1 was plagued by bugs that never existed in the standard version of the game.

My only legitimate gripe with Origin is that it's still in its infancy, so it hasn't addressed the issue of only installing to the OS drive. Of course, this only applies to a few titles. I have several titles that Origin recognizes, but are installed on my secondary drive as I would prefer. It's my only gripe with the program, and coincidentally I have the same gripe with GFWL (which I used to purchase Blazblue: Calamity Trigger since no one else was selling a digital copy except microsoft).

If I'm to be totally honest though, I prefer GOG's download system, save system, and interface (with the wood shelf to show your purchased titles) more than both Origin and Steam. Also GOG has Guilty Gear X2 Reload so, I swoon for them 😉

I can deal with Origin......ANYTHING but GFWL. GFWL makes me invent new curse words, because none exist to properly convey my dismay at dealing with that crap.

I can't see myself buying this on release, though. The community will invariably latch on to it and release advanced config tools and graphic mods, and I'd rather my first play-though be in that context.

That is, unless I see some reviews proving that it isn't graphically gimped upon release like Crysis2 was.
