Hello, I've got a ryzen 5700x, 32gb ram, and an msi 2070 super. Gaming is great at 1440p but I am thinking of moving to a 4k monitor. Question is, what's the fastest gpu that I can reasonably pair with that 5700x? My 2070 super is still kicking, but I've been looking something maybe a little more efficient, like a 4070, or should I wait until amd launches the 7800xt next week?

CPU will not be bottleneck for any GPU so you can get any within your budget but beware of PSU.

It will do a decent job with any, I would say the minimum upgrade is a 4070. If you can afford it a 4080 would be nicer at 4k. If it's only a week for the new AMD GPU's then you might as well wait for that just to see what it's like.

If things like ray tracing are a priority for you though, then Nvidia would be the better option.
