So i've been playing the first Far cry game since i was like 4, always on a weak pc, but now i got a pretty decent pc especially for the price!
But the game has a half second or even 1 to 2 second freeze mostly when: Zooming with binoculars 2 times , Shooting and hitting a enemy or getting shot by a enemy (for the first time in a level), (also when a freeze happens when i shoot, the gun fires 2 or sometimes even 3 times!) and also diving into water for the first time in a level (seems like a freeze and frame skip).
I really don't understand these freezes as they always happen but i could have 300 things explode at ones and only drop like 3 fps but when shooting a enemy it freezes for half (1) second?
Game is running on patch 1.32 and amd64 update and excusive content, tried fcam same problem, patch 1.4 same thing.
Game spec is 1920x1080 Very High no AA 8x anisotropic filtering 8 , game also runs at around 110+ fps outdoors 160+ fps indoors. (tried vsync & frame cap to 60 but that doesn't do anything)

These weird freezes don't happen at low settings but i'm not playing a 2004 game on low settings.
Disabling gore fixes the shooting freeze but a shooting game without gore... Nah!
So if you have any ideas please tell me, also all latest updates and drivers are installed + windows update is always off when gaming 1.3 gb used on desktop game uses around 700mb.

Spec: Intel core i3-530 (2core 4 thread) GT 330 (768MB GDDR3 , 800 core clock and mem clock) 4gb ddr3 ram dual channel. 1TB HDD . 60hz monitor . Windows 10 latest updates.

Also keep in mind that the recommended system requirements are:

  • CPU: Pentium 4 or Athlon XP
  • CPU SPEED: 2 GHz
  • RAM: 512 MB
  • OS: Windows XP
  • VIDEO CARD: DirectX 9.0 compliant video card with 64 MB RAM (GeForce FX+ / Radeon 9500+)
  • TOTAL VIDEO RAM: 128 MB
  • 3D: Yes
  • HARDWARE T&L: Yes
  • PIXEL SHADER: 2.0
  • VERTEX SHADER: 2.0
  • DIRECTX VERSION: 9.0b (included)
  • SOUND CARD: Yes
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 4 GB
My pc is waaay above these. And on a old pc (Gt 710 msi lp 1gb , 3gb ddr2 single channel , p4 ht 630) i had way lower fps on the same settings but no freezing?!?!?

Hmm... Seems like i spoke to soon. Windows 7 had the same stuff after some time and after installing windows 10 again the problems didn't accure, i think it's a gpu problem.

EDIT: little mistake they do happen but less just like the fresh windows 7 install.
