[SOLVED] Default gateway not available

I would just be doing whatever and suddenly nothing loads. PC still shows I have internet connection but nothing loads. Gets fixed when the adapter gets reset from troubleshooter. Wired not wifi.

Might be related to 24h lease expiring since it usually happens around midnight. The pc doesn't automatically acquire a new address. Other devices on the network don't have this issue. Default gateway is 192.168.1.1

What could be the issue?

Well, it's my router, as in I have access to everything on it, but I don't know what the issue is so it would be hard to fix it

If you have admin and you think the DHCP lease time is the problem then you see if changing it will help.

Not sure why you think it was dhcp in the first place. I am not sure what that message really means.

When it is broken try to run IPCONFIG /all.

See if you have a valid IP address and gateway.

If the dhcp is broken you will have 169.x.x.x ip address.

If the DHCP still does not renew after you change it to say 48hrs then I would recommend you just put in a static IP. Change the pool on the router so the top IP is 200. Then assign your pc 192.168.1.201 in the nic settings.

It's just something someone said in another place where I asked. I have no clue what the problem is related to, all the info I have on the case is that the troubleshooter says "default gateway is not available" after fixing it. I installed the latest ethernet driver and it still happened after so that I can check out from the list.

Next time it happens I'll check ipconfig if it says anything, today it didn't happen.

It happened again like 10 minutes ago, did an ipconfig during it and after.

Also can't access router during this, so 192.168.1.1 won't load

Did you try the suggestions by @bill001g , Post #4?

Look in the router's logs (if available and enabled) for any errors that correlate with the "default gateway is not available"?

Take a screenshot of those errors and post accordingly.

Try to disable the ipv6 support in the nic setting. IPV6 seems to have much more issues than ipv4.
