Question Default Monitor keeps changing ?

Hello!

I purchased 2 new monitors for my build at the start of the year, the primary monitor is a Fire Legend 34HC5CUR and the secondary monitor is a cheap 27" 1440p Viewedge I got off of amazon; both are running off of a 6700 XT Hellhound GPU.

The issue ive been having is that every time my monitors are turned off or go to sleep, the "default monitor" status will transfer to the Viewedge display and will stay there until i change it back, in turn the refresh rate on the Fire Legend will go from 165HZ back down to 60HZ until I change it again in windows display settings.

Ive tried changing the firelegend from a displayport cable to an hdmi cable but it didnt seem to help. Interestingly when I disconnect the secondary monitor entirely and only use the firelegend monitor I dont have issue with the refresh rate resetting.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Ive spent hours scouring forums looking for a fix but cant seem to find anything which works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You might want to use DDU to remove all GPU drivers, then manually reinstall with the latest GPU drivers sourced from AMD's support site, in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator. Ofc, I'm assuming you're working with Windows OS.
