i seem to be running into a trend, i install xp pro, alls fine for a bit, but
after a while it slows, videos are dodgy (poor picture Quality, picture stops
& sound continues etc), apps start slowly, takes ages to shutdown & boot,
then the only way i can seem to fix it is to do a clean re-install, copy what
i want to keep, format, strat afresh.

i'm now on my 5th install

details are as follows

2Ghz CPU, 512 DDR, 128 AGP,
40G Hdd (split in two, 1x10g, 1x25g, 5 left for the
restore diks supplied with the system) makes reinstalling my system quicker
cuz i keep my docs etc on the 10g

ne ideas whats causing this...

Any web site that advocates disabling Virtual Memory as a general
tuneup item for Windows XP is obviously written by someone who has no
real understanding of how Windows works.

Avoid this site like the plague, even though some of the other content
is valid.

The fixyourwindows.com web site is filled with rediculous advice written by
someone who clearly doesn't know they're writing about.
