Dell Uses 'Apples to Apples' Comparison to Show How Its PCs are Better Than Macs

Kind of odd why they display 'buy now' right next to the savings instead of the original price. Now they look more expensive while quickly reading the page.
 
Its interesting there is nothing about built quality.

Both Toyota and Lexus cars have wheels, doors, seats, and engine but Lexus is Lexus.

This is a mistake. Way to acknowledge the competition there guys! There is a reason that when Pepsi's ads poke at Coke, Coke asks who Pepsi is.
 
apple laptops are made for people who believe in excess and have very large ego problems. our world sits around us crumbling, and people starving, stealing, dying, yet people have the audacity to purchase 2 or 3 apple media products and laim they are necessities. some of these people are 'urban planners'. boo. save some of that money and help yourself or those in need.

What kind of shoes are you wearing and what do you drive to work... Do you know where all those products you use are made?

 
I tried to customize it and it gave me this message
"We're sorry, but we are unable to process your request. The product or offer you are attempting to locate is no longer available."

Way to go Marketing advertise a product I can't buy. The time to buy a mac is when they refresh the line else you have 3-6 months of price drops by other OEMs. At the end of the day buy what you like and enjoy because it is something you will probably use every day for the next few years.

What is not factored into the cost though is the tech support. I would love to see the comparison between customer satisfaction between Apple where you can call or go to a local store and other OEMs who send you off to India.

I or any of my friends/family havent had any problems with Toyota reliability.
 
why cant we all just get along ...

it is very important that there are macs in this world .... it alows us to spot the person who is compensating for something out of a crowd ....

Right... I guess you did not hear about their recent design problem with their break system... They had to recall many cars and spent billions of dollars in damage control and image recovery....

Use Google if you dont read newspapers....

I agree, but perhaps in different terms. I'm a PC fella and I wouldn't say that an Apple is the "Lexus" of computers, but there are a few differences in the way that every PC and Mac is made. Other things to note (that aren't always advertised) are things like what the cases are made of (most Apples are aluminum frames), energy comsumption, heat dissipation (IMO, this is not stressed enough in ads), and the deeper specifics such as the memory type and speed. I really think that more spec's should be listed on computers these days.
 
I'd really like to see better quality LCD screens on Windows-Based laptops. Less stickers, and no AOL promotion shortcuts on my desktop. To be honest, if you want a Dell laptop or any other laptop that has quality feel and look (with the perfomance to back it up), the price of those machines comes really close to the price of a MacBook.

You have to give Apple credit for pushing PC manufacturers to rethink about putting out dull and bulky designs of Laptops.

well, my friend, there was recently a list that came out of 40 billionaires (including Bill Gates) who are each giving a substantial amount of their wealth to charity... Did not see Steve Jobs/Wozniak's mane on that list...

Now maybe Mac people out there can understand why so many people don't like Mac computers. They are a straight up ripoff.
If it's the fact that Mac don't get as many viruses as PCs. Then all I have to say to that is...
Run a polished version of Linux. Because OSX is Linux based. Which means you very likely wouldn't get a virus and you could still do all of the things a Mac can do plus save about $1000 by not paying Apple's insane prices.

Really funny you chose those two, because it is quite accurate for mac vs PC. They really are the same thing with different badges, just one costs more.
 
I general it looks biased towards Dell:
1. Weight and the size of the notebook, this is where Apple beats Dell.
2. Battery life on Apple is longer, with less weight and size
3. Apple has a better touch-pad, then Dell.
4. Microsoft Messenger is available for Mac OS straight from Microsoft.
5. Dell comes with 720p screen and not 1080p, like Apple. 1080p can be chosen as an option for 100$ more.

Some items, which Dell didn't mention are an option for Blu-Ray, built-in broadband and removable battery. These are strong points of Dell.
